Soon! Such a beautiful word. I would be happy to wait ages for this podcast, if need be, but I would be even happier to devour the next episode. (Guh... does that sound too needy. :P)

Heheh. Cool! I hope he enjoyed Prophet. Morchella - Yes, this was discussed on the forums. You should wander over there; I often mention extra info about the writing or the characters in the threads for each episode.

I've mentioned that there's one character who appears in both Prophet and Cowry Catchers. People don't notice who, though, unless they read the books close together. ;)

Thanks, Mary! I love the artwork, too. :D I'm glad you're enjoying the different elements I'm using. Charts are fickle, but I'm glad that more people are tuning into the podcast. A lot of folks have worked hard on it.

Abbey,
Just saw that CC Book 1 is at the top of the Podiobook charts for subscriptions for the last 30 days. I am not surprised!
You've even topped Shadowmagic II, Prince of Hazel and Oak, and Shadowmagic I is the all time most subscribed book on Podiobooks.
Way to go!
Also, the Pegasus illustration is beautiful. It elicited a touching emotional response from me, beyond the obvious technical skill of the artist, and adds a wonderful new dimension to your story.
What a fabulous idea to do an illustrated audio novel. You are a trailblazer and I believe your innovations, your talented hard work at storytelling and your polished, professional production values will be remembered with respect and admiration far into the future of this now infant medium.
Your place at the top is well deserved.

I loved this so much. Glad that vindicated is Gerrard's at last. The Pegasus scene made me sad though. Thess is such a good person and has such wonderful talents. Hope the thing with Morchella doesn't escalate again. Can't wait for the next installment to see where things go from here.
Ms. Hilton you are an amazing writer.

My boyfriend so enjoyed "Cowry Catchers" that he is now listening to "Prophet" and that means I'm getting to re-listen as well. And I'm catching things that I didn't catch the fist time around, and finding connections to "Cowry Catchers" that I didn't make before. Like Morchella's name....I think I might have a tiny bit of an idea where she's from now.....maybe? :)

Ha! Wait till you hear the outtakes. Norm said the cute and fluffy line about a dozen times in as many different ways. It was funny.

I'm glad you enjoyed that dialogue. Putting that group of characters in the same space was bound to produce interesting results. :)

"we're so cute and fluffy!!" hearing that said so sarcasticly made me laugh.

I loved the dialog in this episode. It flowed so naturally and the banter between characters had a very natural feel to it. I actually listend to it twice while at work today.

This audio book just keeps gettin better and better every chapter.

@Abbie - I did the Linux Reality podcast from 2006-2008 and interviewed Nate in episode 93 (http://linuxreality.com/archives.php#93). Nate's got a link to it on his Solar Clipper site, so you might have already run across it.

Aw, I don't even know what to say to all that. You guys are awesome!

Chess - what was your podcast? Has it disappeared? I listened to a lot of Nate interviews. I might have heard that one.

Trillian - Thank you! I often feel that books and movies misrepresent depression and grief. Those feels don't usually look like teenage angst and fits of violent weeping. They look like lethargy. They look like not having a reason to get out of bed. They're sleepy, numb feelings. Anyway, I'm glad you found the responses realistic.

Lila - *blush* In one stroke, I've earned my explicit rating on the podcast and the comments section. :D Thank you. Chapter 11 is one of those raw, unpremeditated scenes where the characters just react. By chapter 12, they have time to think, and then things get more complicated.

Wow, blew my mind (then swallowed), cave scene was kind of unexpected, but I am intregued at how this is progressing.
I've also fallen in love with Silveo, he is very layered and well developed, it was interesting to see how he opens up a little more in this episode and his reactions were so surprising and real.
I have been addicted to Cowry Catchers and the Prophet of Panamindorah for a while, and I really suffer from withdrawal as these are released only on thursday (but it is my new favorite day).
Amazing beyond words, love this series with a passion.

Holy Zarquan singing fish. This episode blew me away. There were things I anticipated happening that occurred in this chapter, but... wow. When things in the cave started, I had to stop what I was doing and just listen. This is probably my favorite episode so far, even though plot wise I want drop a certain character in to The Untempered Schism. I also loved how Gerard reacted (and didn't react) to what happened in this episode - it's a very realistic response (and I'm curious to see what happens if/when people find out, methinks a turning of loyalties may be in order at some point). And Silveo... that was great too. I hope he never has to deliver that piece of news. I am very much looking forward to next week.

P.S.: I'm typing this from my new computer. His name is "Silveo".

Abbie,

I just wanted to say how much I am enjoying Cowry Catchers. I've been a LONG time listener over at podiobooks and have listened to more books from that site than I can count. You have created a fascinating world and the cast and audio production of CC is top-notch. I interviewed Nathan Lowell on a podcast several years ago I used to do and just love his stuff, so it's neat to hear him in another author's work.

Thanks for creating and sharing your work!

Hi, Rick! I assume you're coming from Podiobooks.com site. The easiest way to get things on my feed is to subscribe, either in iTunes or another feed catcher. You can search for me in iTunes. My meta feed is the purple logo with gold lettering (the individual books will be under their respective covers). You can also click that "Subscribe" button on the top right and get other options (like Google Feedreader). Or you can just download stuff straight off the website.

Regardless, welcome to the podcast! :)

Great episode, as always ;-)
I love the cliffhanger at the end, extremely well done...

The illustration is great as well, I particularly like the relative placement of Alsair and Gerard. I had a look at Bo's deviantArt gallery - great stuff!

LOL. Yes, a hat! He doesn't wear it often, but he has one. ;)

Silveo and Gerard - well, yeah, they've spent the summer sailing the small kingdoms and actually speaking to one another. However, the sea change that occurs between Book 1 and 2 (precipitated by the events at the end of Book 1) is that Silveo finally stops fighting. He still thinks this is going to end badly, but he accepts that Gerard isn't going away and he admits the existence of the friendship that has already developed.

I like the dramatic change between the dialogue from the first episode of the first book to the first episode of the second. They've come a long way in their relationship. Silveo seemed to be more accustomed to Gerard now. But it might be because I haven't listened in so long. Great episode. They all did great :D

Oh wow! For some strange reason I imagined the diving spiders to look something like Hagrid's pet spider, Aragog from HP. But that is a beautiful illustrations. I especially like the awesome colors. And the size comparision is helpful too. :D

Hey, Mary! Thanks for dropping by! My name is, in fact, spelled that way. In recent years, jokes about my last name have outpaced jokes about my first name. Go figure.

I'm delighted that you're enjoying Cowry Catchers! I know that it probably seems like we podcasters are always fishing for praise, but when you send your work out into the void, it's hard to convince yourself that it's resonating unless people respond somehow. So thank you for saying hi and letting me know that you like it. I hope that you really enjoy what's coming in the next few months. :D

Dear Abbie, (I'm sorry, it cracks me up, even if your name is not spelled the same; I just couldn't resist, stale as it may be for you!)
I am really enjoying Cowry Catchers. I listened to Prophet of P. twice through before it was released, and I must say, you have certainly matured into one of the best authors and full cast podcasters in the business. You are right up there with Dan Sawyer, Chris Lester and Philippa Ballantine, all of whom's work I admire.
Your cast interviews have been great too. They have been satisfying and insightful entertainment for me as I eagerly await book two of Cowry Catchers.
I know it is a tremendous amount of work to create and produce such high quality work, and I want you to know how much I love and appreciate your work.
Thank you so much for entertaining me in such a magnificent way.

Ever so sincerely,

Mary Laura
P.S.
Your casting for Cowry Catchers is perfect. (Sylvio will ALWAYS be Norm Sherman to me.)

I use Wavepad ($60) to edit and splice together the voice tracks. I use the Levelator (free) to normalize the finished voice track. I use Audacity (free) to record and to score the finished voice track. I use a Blue Snowball USB mic ($100) for most my recording.

That's all I had for Book 1. Now, for Book 2 I've got a listener with Adobe Audition ($350) who will clean up noisy audio for me. This is very nice. Some of my voice actors don't have quiet places to record, and none of the free/cheap programs are good at cleaning up noise. But, as you can tell from Book 1, you can limp along without noise removal.

I spent a year creating Book 1. I learned a lot (it was also a very busy year for me), and Book 2 will be more like 3 months production time. It takes an average of about 10 hours from me to create a 30 minute episode, so it's a tremendous amount of time and a lot of organization.

If you want to get your feet wet with fullcast audio, I recommend listening to The Dunesteef Audiofiction Magazine (http://dunesteef.com/) and then volunteering. They'll let you produce an episode and walk you through the process. It helps them out, and you'll learn a ton about fullcast audio.

Loved the interview. As an artist myself it was fun to hear about her processes and perspective on the story. I love the artwork you have done for Panamindorah, Sarah. Such beautiful work, it really brings the world to life. Can't wait to see more. :)

Out of curiosity, what audio editing program are you using. I sometimes day dream that one day I might do a podcast novel, and I was wondering what kind of program you would need to do a production as complicated as yours.

I am a pretty big Lowell fan. I heard about his books on a technology podcast and proceeded to listen to the first three in three days. Then I heard that there was an interview with him on some site called The Guild of the Cowry Catchers.

Listening to this interview made me interested in the story. So I proceeded to listen to the first book yesterday.

Wow. I am hooked. The artwork is amazing. The production is amazing. The story is amazing. You have done an awesome job with this podcast. I can't wait for book two.

Heehee. That is the fun of podcasting. You get closer to your audience. I really couldn't take credit for any of my voice actors being at DC. If they come, it'll be because they were going to anyway, but it would be sweet to get a picture of everyone. :D

Abbie -
*fangirl happiness*!!! (Not sure how to spell that...) THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR REPLYING! We're still geeking out a little bit and we're very happy you'll be at Dragon*Con. S-B is definitely going as Silveo now, I'm leaning towards Fenrah myself. I really, really hope you can talk Nathan and Norm into coming too, though it would take a bit for us to get over the whole "I can't believe they're really here" reaction. I love this about podcasting - people actually answer you!

Trillian & Scrawny-Bouncy - You made my day! :D

I'm delighted that people are finding me from Drabblecast. I hope the flow of traffic goes both ways. Thank you SO much for sharing the podcast with other people. That's cool as can be. If they're interested, but just don't dig audio, they could read the PDF's. It's all there in text, although I think the audio enhances the story. You could also point them at the cast page. I'm finding that having a cast page with character portraits piques some people's interest.

Ish and Gerard - yes, there are similarities. From early in the Share series, I knew I wanted Nate to voice Gerard. I wanted him to say yes so badly that I said ridiculous things ("only a few lines" *headdesk*).

D*Con - I'm planning on going. If you cosplay Silveo, I will die of squee (and then take pictures). I'm guessing that a number of the cast will be present.

Finally, don't feel bad, but you haven't actually found the Forums. I'll respond wherever you post, but if you click the big orange Forum button on the right, you'll find the land of threaded discussions.

Thanks again for sharing!

I've had at great deal of fun working with this material, in large part because it's not something I'd do on my own. I'm having fun not knowing where the story is going but just trying to bring something authentic to the voice as I hear it in my head. (Gah, that sounds so pretentious!)

Anyway, getting to play a small part in Abbie's big world has been a kick.

Which reminds me.

I owe her audio :(

Hello, Abbie & Nathan (I hope your reading this too!) -

I have been listening to "Prophet" and "Cowry Catchers" since I learned of their existence through one of my other favorite podcasters, Norm Sherman. Once I got into "Prophet", I listened to it non-stop until the ending. I've been listening to "Cowry Catchers" religiously ever since and managed to scare my roommate, Scrawny-Bouncy, with my reactions to the story (HOW DARE YOU END EPISODES!). I've finally talked here into listening to "Cowry Catchers" and now she's as rabid a fangirl as me. We're working through "Prophet" while we wait to see what happens to the shelts of Wefervian.

This episode was the one that got me to come to the forums. I've been listening to the "Share" series for even longer than Abbie's work and when I heard that Nathan Lowell would be one the voice actors I knew I had to listen. I know you don't think you have a good voice, Nathan, but that was one the things I enjoyed about the "Share" books. This interview has convinced me that you're the perfect person for Gerrad. Ish and Gerrad aren't identical, but I think they would get along given the chance (World as Myth jump I guess...). They have the same sort of morality, so it's easy for me to go from one story to another.

I've been pushing "Prophet" and "Cowry Catchers" to any of my friend who'll listen, but it's slow going. Most people don't want to give audio a chance. I do think I've made some progress with a few of them... your bio background and intricate world have been working in your favor. That, and the dinner table discussions of the plot and how to make a shelt costume. Scrawny-Bouncy wants to go as Silveo to Dragon*Con. Any chance you'll be here?

We're eagerly awaiting the next installment. Thank you for sharing your world with us!

Hmmm. It's playing OK for me, and everything looks normal from the inside. Try again? It is a big file at an hour and thirty-five minutes. Hit play and then wait for a moment to see whether it's just taking a while to load. Also, what happens when you try to download it?

Glad you're enjoying the podcast! :D

When I try to listen to the recording on this page, it won't play. The thing that usually says "time into recording / total time" says "00:00/ Infinity:0NaN:0NaN:00"

Also, I just found the podcast and I am enjoying it.

Ah, right... It's not your Y chromosome that's standing in your way, Rish, but your manga-deficit.

Chibis are stylized drawings of characters, often thrown into the margins of comics to depict silliness. They appear among more serious drawings to represent extremes of emotion or to lighten the mood. Chibis typically have little or no nose, huge eyes, simplified hands and feet, and exaggerated proportions. They are a type of characiture, but instead of mocking the subject, they're usually intended to make the subject absurdly cute.

What, exactly, does "chibi" mean? I have to ask, since I'm A Man, and all my time is filled with watching football, drinking beer, working on cars, and . . . scratching.

I reiterate the praise for Norm Sherman. He's fabulous as Silveo.
I must also say that Nathan Lowell is great too. The two have a very good chemistry that really shows off your story. They are very engaging.
Your writing and their talent has come together to make one of the very best podiobooks out there.

Oh, don't feel stupid. Only one of my beta readers figured it out this early (if the others did, they never mentioned), and he's kind of...in the industry. :)

A very interesting episode. Leads one to wonder about Gwain, especially since he had been the author of most of the beginning quotes so far.

Earley - cool! I didn't know anything about shell money growing up, but I read something about it in a book when I was in college and thought the idea was too good not to use. Also, cowries are such pretty shells, and they look so mysterious. I've got a map cowry sitting on my desk.

Alex - Bwahahaha!! The temples of Wefrivain are just very expensive aquariums. :D I took a marine biology class one summer, and we went diving Belize. It was awesome.

This reminds me of something else: There's a moment a few episodes from now when the narration goes something like, "Silveo jumped back as though Gerard had handed him a live snake." A more creative application of their environment would read, "as though Gerard had handed him a live cone snail." But nobody would get that, ya know?

Abbie, on average a saltwater tank only takes a few minutes a day. It's the research and understanding of the animals and biological processes involved that takes some time...
Depending on what you want to keep, it can also involve considerable monetary investment at the beginning (keeping fish usually less so than keeping corals). Keeping an aquatic wyvern for example might well take a 10,000 gallon tank and feeding might become expensive ;-)

Ah, then my apologies - I'm Australian and grew up in PNG, where cowries had been used as currency, and we were always taught that the English spelling was cowrie. So "cowry", which I've never seen before, really jumped out. But, hey - if it's common, it's common. :-)

Thanks, Alex. I should listen to Blue Zoo sometime. I used to really want a salt water aquarium, although now I'm not sure I want it badly enough to do all that work.

The real history of cowry shells as money is fascinating. They went all over the place.

I don't think "cowry" is strictly AE, I have found it being used a lot in international scientific literature on the Cypraeidae. Even if this has just been adopted from American papers, it is nowadays an accepted way of spelling this snail family's common names.

Hi, Earley.

I'm a medical professional and an American, which means that when I spell anything right at all (dubious), it's spelled the way we spell things. Thanks for the tip. Merry Christmas!

Hi. First off, wanted to say I'm enjoying the audio so far. The fact that you've used "cowry" (a spelling only accepted in America) instead of the more usual "cowrie" grates a little, although i've tried to ignore it. Otherwise, enjoying the work thus far.

Alex - No offense taken. One of my goals when I started writing this story was not to pull any punches. I try to let the story unfold as it seems most likely to me that it would unfold, given the characters' culture, personalities, and situation. Nothing is off-limits. Sometimes that takes the story to dark places.

However, I've given up trying to figure out what people will find disturbing. Many readers do not seem to find violence to children disturbing, but they are terribly disturbed by consensual sex between adults. Some people are not disturbed by sex, but are disturbed by the way religion or politics is handled. Some people are disturbed by the redemptive elements of the story - maintaining that certain crimes are unforgivable. I am routinely surprised by what bothers readers and what doesn't. The only thing I can say for sure is that this story gets under most people's skin at some point.

Paiter's scene is a good one to be disturbed by (IMO). I intended it to be disturbing, anyway. I've got several kids in this story, and I'm not comfortable asking kids to play those roles. I'm still trying to figure out how to cast some of them. Fortunately, there aren't many, and they don't turn up until later, so I've got time.

I totally love the story - so please don't take this as criticism, it's just meant as a remark - but thinking of when you said that the book gets disturbing as it progresses (implying that it isn't at the beginning) I have to say that it already IS disturbing (and I'm a grown man).
I really had a knot in my stomach when I listened to the scene with Paiter being interrogated. Being an uncle of a young boy approximately that age it really made me uncomfortable and I would have switched channels if this was on TV (I am that wimpish). Thank goodness you chose to have a grown man speak the part of the little faun, I don't know if I would have been able to listen to it if a child played that poor, frightened and abused kid.

An interesting point.
Another interesting point is how you date the stories by education. I used to figure dates by location - we used to move every couple of years. It's handy.
Norm makes Silveo meaner and scarier than I could have imagined. He used to be such a nice boy.

Thanks, Gail! Yeah, this is definitely a different book. Just talking composition (not re-writes), my major projects have gone like this:

Hunters Unlucky (not released) - product of my childhood
Prophet of Panamindorah - production of my high school yrs
Walk Upon High (not released) - production of my college yrs
Guild of the Cowry Catchers - production of my post-grad yrs

Those two stories are separated by time and experience. They are quite different because I was quite different.

As you say, no harm!
Whoosh! these two episodes went by really fast, the pace is phenomenal. I learned a lot about what to expect here, and "Catchers" has a *very* different tone from "Prophet." I get chills wondering how dark it will get before the end!

It's very good.

Gail - Whoops! Sorry! I don't think it's a good idea to release a promo before content is available, so I didn't ask anyone to play it until I was ready to release the first episode. Norm got mixed up and said it was coming out next week, which is probably why you thought so. No harm done. I hope you enjoy the first two episodes! :D

Abbie - I have discovered a fault with the promos - they do not give the launch date! I am embarrassed that I wasn't paying attention and didn't know until now.

On the up side, I have two episodes to listen to right away. Oh, I'm looking forward to it.

I love the long reply above, where we get a glimpse of how much thought you have put into this universe.

Ah, yes. Like horses and donkeys or lions and tigers, closely related shelt species can often interbreed. However, like mules or ligers, the offspring are usually sterile.

In _Prophet_, Syrill tells Corry that there's a whole culture of wood faun/cliff faun hybrids living in the border towns. They're called satires. They're beautiful and sterile and often become prostitutes. Laylan is also a half-breed - foxling/wolfling cross. (This is a problem later when he's supposed to produce an heir.)

So faun/faun and canid/canid can readily interbreed, but not produce fertile descendants. As the pairings become less closely related, the likelihood of producing any offspring becomes smaller. Canid/felid, for instance. They're both panauns, but not closely related. Then you get into the really tough crosses like faun/panaun. Successful reproduction in those pairings is incredibly rare.

None of this has anything to do with race. There are races of shelts. However, in a world with multiple sentient species, race doesn't get much attention. There's a mountain grishnard race (tall, darker hair, skin, and fur) and a lowland grishnard race (smaller build, blond fur and hair, paler skin). They can easily interbreed and have remained somewhat distinct only for geographical reasons. Gerard is of mixed mountain/lowland grishnard descent. Thessalyn is a classic lowland grishnard.

You're right, Rish. This podcast might make you gay...or furry...or both. On the plus side, dating will be less complicated. If you get the urge to wear a tail and bells, you might want to listen to something else for a while. ;)

In listening to your warning, I am a bit worried. Do you think the podcast is appropriate for a, say, thirty-something-year-old child?

Sometimes he can be passably mature, but often he is embarrassingly impressionable.

Alex - awesome! There's so much good stuff out there these days that I figure I've only got one episode to really hook people. I'm glad it worked for you. That's interesting that you noticed different things about the picture after listening to the chapters. Did you notice the little trail of blood on the floor? Heh.

I love it! The new full cast audio is great and you did an absolutely terrific job with the first three chapters - people will be hooked after listening to this episode (no "give me 4 episodes and you will be hooked" stuff ;-) ).
Thank you, Abbie!

After much fiddling, I have concluded that Feedburner (the usual suspect) is somehow causing the problem, perhaps in concert with Podpress, which is old and clunky. I decided to try the new Powerpress from Blubrry. This did, indeed, create perfect iTunes tags on the podcast's standard feed (http://cowrycatchers.com/?feed=podcast).

However, it does not fix the old feedburner feeds(http://feeds2.feedburner.com/GuildOfTheCowryCatchers and http://feeds.feedburner.com/GuildOfTheCowryCatchers), to which everyone is subscribed. "Everyone" is only about 25 people at the moment, which is why I need to fix it now, while the potential for confusion is still small.

As of right now, all 3 feeds seem to get whatever I put out, probably because I'm still using the feedburner plugin. I think I'm gonna leave that alone. I did submit the standard feed to iTunes. I have no idea whether feedburner is smart enough to grab the stats, but as of right now, I don't think I've dumped anyone off the feed. If you do have problems, please let me know. I really appreciate when people tell me that stuff isn't working. Thanks!

If all else fails you might have to consider posting your problem in a Wordpress forum - they should know where to look.

>I think that Podpress creates the feed dynamically each time >it is being accessed, thus you won’t be able to find a “feed >file” per se.

Ah. This is good to know, but I don't think it can be quite right. For instance, I completely deleted my podpress plugin, and I still had a feed, just no streaming players. I reinstalled it (new off the website), and my old settings were all still there, including the errors when I went to validate. Somehow, this info is saved outside of the podpress plugin. The feed isn't broken. It just has errors in iTunes and I won't submit it there until I can get them fixed.

I'm interested in your physical file. Could you email me? hilton (at) fauness (dot) com

I am doing the feed for a friend of mine, the show's called "Blue Zoo Radio" and it's an aquarium related show. I also made the feeds for sportstalkCleveland.
The thing is that I basically only use XML files that have been written by myself, not being created by some program. I think that Podpress creates the feed dynamically each time it is being accessed, thus you won't be able to find a "feed file" per se.
I think the only chance you have to change the output is to have a look at the podpress_feed_functions.php file in the Podpress folder and try to tweak it to your needs - don't forget to back the file up in advance.
Still, I can e-mail you an XML file so you have an easy start if you decide to go the manual route if playing around with php isn't your thing. That way you really just have 1 "physical" file that can be edited via text editor.

I am doing the feed for a friend of mine, the show’s called “Blue Zoo Radio” and it’s an aquarium related show. I also made the feeds for sportstalkCleveland.
The thing is that I basically only use XML files that have been written by myself, not being created by some program. I think that Podpress creates the feed dynamically each time it is being accessed, thus you won’t be able to find a “feed file” per se.

Ah, I didn't know you had a podcast! What's it called?

I don't think there's any danger of Podpress changing stuff back. The whole problem is that it isn't saving changes. When I go to validate the feed, I can see the whole code, line by line. I can see exactly where the problems are. It's stuff that Podpress supposedly changed, but didn't. I just need to be able to access and tweak that code that I'm looking at when I validate the feed.

How do you edit yours manually? Where do you find it?

Ah, sorry, I do know the Podpress plugin but I never used it... I have found that editing the feed manually is easier for me - as I never had to have the episodes appear in a blog, just in iTunes.
Still, the question is, if you change something in the output file if that will remain that way - maybe the next time you add an episode to your blog the changes you made will be overwritten.
Maybe you could change the code of the plugin? You could do a full text search of your Wordpress folder for one of the iTunes tags - there shouldn't be too many files popping up...

Oh, thanks, Alex! Mainly, I just want to know how to get to my feed to edit it. I use the Podpress plugin for Wordpress. There are fields. I inter the info.

I'm guessing that somewhere in Wordpress's labyrinthine file system is a file that is the xml of my feed. I could open it with Wordpad and edit it. But I don't know which file or where to start looking or even if I'm right. I don't seem to be asking Google the correct questions, because I'm not finding the answer online. If you know how I can find the xml of my feed, I'm all ears!

Why can't it be next week already? I can't wait...
Abbie, I've read your tweet re manually doing xml feeds - if you still need help I have an xml file with comments that can be edited in any text editor and should be self explanatory. It has both the iTunes tags as well as the standard rss reader tags.

Hey, Kenzie! Glad you're looking forward to it. :D

To answer your question: You don't actually upload things to iTunes. You upload to your website, and then the feed "points" to that file that you uploaded where it's sitting on the server. iTunes does not host content. It just points to existing feeds (which the author must create). All you submit to iTunes is a feed URL.

To upload a 30 minute MP3 to my website takes maybe 3-10 minutes, depending on connection.

Thanks, radlilim! I shoot for a discernible plot, but not much more. Silveo - lol. That's not Steve Eley. He really does have a higher voice. That's Norm Sherman, and, yes, he does have a lower voice than what I imagine for Silveo in my head (voice actors never sound _exactly_ the way I imagine characters). He does an excellent job, though. The way he says things is spot on.

It's good! Gives enough of the story to peak interest, I think. You've got hooks without giving a lot away. Though I always thought Silveo would have a higher voice than Mr. Eley has.

Hey, Rish.

The art is by Sarah Cloutier (http://melukilan.deviantart.com/). I started commissioning these illustrations back in 2007 before I even knew what a podcast was. Art delights me, and I really like her stuff. :)

I may commission some other artists as well. We'll see whether Rah can keep up with the podcast.

Thank you, Luke! Australia, huh? Wow. I was in Perth once. It was a beautiful place.

I've finished recording the narration for Book 1 of Cowry Catchers, and I'm now putting all the narration lines together, so it's coming along. Thanks for the smiles and encouragement!

Abbie this looks so cool. I was a massive fan of the Panamindorah books (they kept me sane through work).
Any who I cant wait until your new story comes out. The preview you gave on the last Panamindorah chapter was enthralling. Keep up the good work.

Yours Sincerely
