Hmm. I don’t think I have ever been called charming. Thank you.
You’re welcome!
Abbie, you better hurry up getting the second book out or I might die of anticipation…
What an absolutely great final episode to the first book – and what a great last sentence.
Thanks, Alex!
Book 2 – I’m working on it! I just got into my new house and set up my podcasting closet, so I can resume recording.
I saw the photographs on twitter – so please don’t get distracted by your absolutely cool garden with the rivulet but focus on your podcasting closet
Hmmm, am I hearing echos of the Bloody Jack series?
and I can’t wait for the next book!
Hello, Maddie. Bloody Jack – well…no. I love the Bloody Jack books (and have talked about them on my other podcast), but CC was written before I read them. Patrick O’Brian, on the other hand, was definitely an influence.
O’Brian! Really? I didn’t notice yet, but then again I haven’t read all of the books(I’m stuck on The Mauritious Command)!
Hehe. I love those books! My brother and I listened to all of them from Audible. As far as influencing CC – not so much the story or characters, but in the sense of “everything I know about ships, I learned from Patrick O’Brian.”
Same here! Well, that and the Horatio Hornblower series, but I learned all the sails from O’Brian! Have you ever heard of the Richard Sharpe series?
Oh, of course I know Sharpie! Heheh. My brother and I actually quoted Cornwell in the quotes contest I ran on my Prophet of Panamindorah podcast last year.
Finally!Someone who has read the books and is neither British nor related to me! Silveo reminds me of a rather more irritable Sharpe at times:)
As my 7th graders say… O M double O G! That was awesome. I need more!
